A lifelong Butler County resident, Roger Reynolds was appointed county Auditor on April 15, 2008 and was elected to complete the full term as Auditor on November 4, 2008. Prior to his appointment, Roger served as Liberty Township Fiscal Officer since 2003.

Roger’s background as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Governmental Financial Manager with Chief Fiscal Officer experience enabled him to begin implementing improved, conservative operating standards immediately upon his appointment. As the Chief Fiscal Officer of the county, Roger Reynolds has led by example during tough economic times.

During his first two years in office, Roger has reduced office expenditures to their lowest levels in 10 years. He's cut administrative overhead and staffing levels yet has maintained a high level of customer satisfaction and service. Taxpayers have benefitted from his conservative, professional  leadership as Roger has returned more than $1 million dollars to local neighborhoods and residents.

He challenged reappraisal rules set by the state of Ohio in an effort to more fairly appraise county parcels and in 2009 completed an unprecedented off-year reappraisal which resulted in an average county-wide property value drop of 4.7 percent. Roger has also “opened the book” on county government by listing Auditor’s Office expenditures online, which can be found on this Web site.

A staunch fiscal conservative with the work ethic to be a full-time county Auditor, Roger Reynolds has pledged to restore public trust and confidence in the Auditor’s Office and has worked tirelessly on that goal.

“When I first took office in April 2008 we set aggressive goals to reduce spending, reform government and return tax dollars,” Roger said. “Those goals have not changed and will not change.”
